We'll be out shopping for supplies to ship today... and later, some visiting.
I hear there is an Apple Store in Saipan. Is this right? If so, shall we wait to buy our (first ever) laptop til we get there?
We'll check back later.

Buy all electronics in the US. The local businesses jack the prices up 100%.
I think the store that sold Apple just closed. I've heard there's one in Guam, but it isn't an "Apple" store.
Buy a nice surge suppressor.
Mike is correct, the shop that sold and serviced Apple products here on Saipan just went the way of your local Montgomery Wards.
He is also correct, get a battery back-up/AVR/surge protector for each computer in the house. These you can buy locally since they weigh so much that shipping them here eats up what savings you would have realized by an offshore purchase.
Gotchya... Thx!
